We are pleased to release the latest investment reports for our public ancillary fund, the Australian Philanthropic Services (APS) Foundation. It is the fastest-growing public ancillary fund in Australia and now has more than 725 giving funds, totalling over $435 million.
Last financial year, we helped our giving fund holders give over $27 million to charity. With strong investment returns across our portfolios, our clients are able to have a significant charitable impact now, giving to the causes and communities they care about, and also growing the balance of their giving funds for the future.
The APS Foundation has delivered strong investment returns for FY 2025 across its two investment portfolios, both of which target an after-fees return of CPI+4% p.a. over rolling 7-year periods.
- The General Portfolio, managed by Chris Cuffe, was established in 2012 and is well-diversified across the full investment spectrum. The performance of the General Portfolio was 10.6% p.a for the year ended 30 June 2025 and 10.2% p.a. since inception in July 2012, which is significantly ahead of its target return.
- The Focused Portfolio, managed by David Wright, was established in June 2022 and has a responsible investing focus. The portfolio returned 6.4% p.a to 30 June 2025.
APS would like to thank the portfolio managers, investment committee, and underlying managers for their efforts in achieving a return that helps our clients to “give and grow” their philanthropic capital for the benefit of the community.
We are especially thankful to the investment managers who offer their services at low or pro bono rates. The value of these fee reductions exceeded $1 million, which has made a significant contribution to both the performance of the APS Foundation and the giving fund balances of our clients.
If you have any questions about the APS Foundation or would like to establish a giving fund, you can find out more here, or get in touch on 02 9779 6312.
