
Sebastian Robertson

Sebastian brings over 15 years of experience leading high-impact, purpose-driven organisations.
In 2011, Sebastian founded Batyr, a national youth mental health charity that is a recognised leader in prevention and stigma reduction surrounding mental ill-health. To date, Batyr has reached over 600,000 young Australians and is recognised nationally and internationally, including being highlighted by the Lancet Commission and Selena Gomez’s foundation.
In 2017, Sebastian co-founded, and is the current CEO of Birdi. Birdi is a global collaborative geospatial software company that supports organisations turn drone and satellite data into actionable insights. In 2023-2025 Sebastian served as President of Earth Observation Australia, which aims to strengthen collaboration between government, industry, and academia.
Sebastian is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He holds a B. Economics and B. Commerce from ANU and in 2013, was awarded ANU Young Alumnus of the Year. Sebastian has served on the advisory boards for Kokoro Change, Corporate Match and Trampoline Ventures. He continues to champion scalable, systems-based solutions to some of society’s most complex challenges.
Sebastian was appointed a Non-executive director of APS in October 2025.
