Fiona Higgins

Fiona is a social impact leader with two decades of executive and governance experience in the Australian for-purpose sector. She has been involved with Australian Philanthropic Services (APS) since 2012, being one of three founding directors. Prior to APS, Fiona held executive and board roles in philanthropy, not-for-profit and family office management, including as Director of the Royal Agricultural Society Foundation (NSW), Executive Director & Member of the Advisory Board at The Caledonia Foundation and Philanthropy Services Manager at Cambooya Services (Fairfax family office). Fiona’s early career spanned program management in international development, linguistics (Indonesian translation) and corporate communications.
Fiona holds tertiary qualifications in humanities, linguistics and social sciences. A creative at heart, Fiona has written four works of contemporary fiction and a memoir published by Macmillan, Allen & Unwin and Boldwood Books. She facilitates a literary series in Sydney, is a volunteer crisis support worker at Australia’s national suicide hotline and serves as a pro bono adviser on several boards and committees.
