This list highlights collaborative giving and community giving organisations operating in Australia that transparently share the charities they fund. They provide a valuable window into smaller, often grassroots organisations that may have outsized potential for social impact and have undergone a thorough due diligence process. Please be aware not all the charities supported by the groups below will have DGR1 status. Please ensure you check eligibility with your APS Adviser before making a gift.
Australians Investing In Women
Australians Investing In Women (AIIW) advocates for gender-wise philanthropy. It encourages all Australians – particularly philanthropic, corporate, and community leaders to apply a gender lens to their giving and increase investment in women and girls, to help create a fairer and more inclusive society. AIIW supports individuals and organisations to invest in philanthropic initiatives that benefit women and girls. Their project portal provides a range of funding opportunities across cause area, cohort and geography.

Community Foundations Australia
Community Foundations Australia (CFA) is the national peak body for Australia’s network of place‑based community foundations, representing and supporting around 40 locally governed foundations across the country. They maintain a database of community foundations so if you’re looking for a local community organisation supporting changemakers in your area, you can search the registry.

Groundswell Giving
Groundswell connects those who want to make a difference with experts and organisations deploying climate solutions around the country. From grass-roots organisations to policy experts, they’ve backed the campaigns and movements shifting public debate, influencing policy, and delivering real wins for people and the planet. In FY24/25 its members funded 43 grants valued at $2.345 million.

Impact100
Impact100 is a global initiative that aims to transform communities through collective giving. Each chapter in Australia is a giving circle that funds specialist, local charities to transform the lives of people in need. The model – 100 people (members) come together – each member gifts $1,000 (or more) – $100,000 is gifted to a local charity. As a collective, members decide the grant recipients.

Mannifera
Mannifera is a collective of values aligned Australian funders supporting a fairer democracy and economy; investing in civil society and First Nations-led organisations while fostering collective action and shared learning. Their focus areas include: Fostering First Nations economic inclusion; Building fair tax and economic systems; Improving quality public debate, Fostering inclusive political participation; and ensuring accountable and open Government.
Since 2019, Mannifera have delivered upwards of $5.6 million in grants – grant decisions are made by collective members at their annual muster, and at key moments throughout the year in response to emerging issues.
Melbourne Women’s Foundation
Melbourne Women’s Foundation (MWF) is a community of donors investing in the wellbeing of women and families in vulnerable circumstances across Greater Melbourne through collective giving. Since 2014, the MWF’s giving circle has granted over $1.3 million to 52 nonprofits. The grant pool each year is dependent on membership and supporter donations.

Nature Impact Collective
Nature Impact Collective is a member-based organisation (and member of the AEGN) made up of a community of philanthropists committed to ongoing protection and restoration of Australia’s natural environments; land, sea, freshwater, ecosystems and threatened species. With a collective giving approach, members of the Nature Impact Collective provide un-tied funding for organisations to deliver impact they collectively aim to achieve. In 2025, its 5 members shared $2.25m in funding to 8 environmental non-governmental organisations (eNGO’s).

Sydney Community Foundation
Sydney Community Foundation is Greater Sydney’s independent community foundation, established in 2004 to connect philanthropy with local communities experiencing disadvantage. It mobilises collective giving from individuals, families, businesses, and trusts to support grassroots, community‑led charities, with a strong focus on place‑based giving. Through funds such as the Sydney Women’s Fund, Impact100 Sydney and other collaborative initiatives, the Foundation prioritises education, employment, safety, belonging, and long‑term community wellbeing, directing funding to smaller organisations with deep local knowledge and potential for lasting impact.
10×10 Philanthropy
10×10 Philanthropy (10×10) provides a platform for skilled volunteers to discover social purpose organisations who are innovating to solve problems for vulnerable people, then organise an event to raise funds, awareness and support. They build the networks that back innovative Not-for-profits (NFPs) to multiply their impact. Since its inception in 2013, 10×10 have unlocked $25m+ for 400+ NFPs through 20k engaged individuals. Sydney based, 10×10 have events across Australia including Adelaide, Brisbane Darwin, Melbourne Sydney and Perth.

The Funding Network Australia
Since 2013, The Funding Network (TFN) has been bringing people together to find, fund and support grassroots social change programs that directly help people in need. TFN’s mission is to build the capacity of grassroots non-profit organisations, deepen the culture of giving and facilitate greater community engagement. To June 2024, TFN has raised over $29 million for 583 grassroots NFPs through 189 live crowdfunding events.

Women’s Environmental Leadership Australia
Women’s Environmental Leadership Australia (WELA) is a community of women transforming Australia’s response to our environmental and climate crises. Since 2016, they have supported the leadership development of women and gender diverse people who have influenced some of Australia’s most important environmental campaigns and projects positively influencing local communities, businesses, industries and government in their own unique ways.
