APS appoints Lisa George to Board of Directors
Australian Philanthropic Services (APS) has appointed Lisa George to its Board of Directors as a non-executive Director, effective July 2026.
Lisa brings extensive experience across philanthropy, social impact and governance. She has been with Macquarie Group since 2010 and is currently an Executive Director and Global Head of the Macquarie Group Foundation, which leads the organisation’s social impact work.
APS Chair, Jan Swinhoe, says the appointment would further strengthen the organisation’s ability to support and grow structured philanthropy in Australia.
“Lisa is one of Australia’s most respected leaders in philanthropy and social impact. Her experience working across the corporate, philanthropic and not-for-profit sectors will bring valuable insight to our board as APS continues to support more Australians in their giving,” Swinhoe says.
“She has dedicated her career to helping organisations and individuals create meaningful and lasting social impact, and we are fortunate to have someone of her experience and calibre join the board at APS.”
In addition to her role at Macquarie, Lisa is former Co-Chair and current member of the Board of Philanthropy Australia, is a Director of For Purpose Investment Partners, and chairs the Harvard Club of Australia Ferris Family Non-profit Fellowship, which awards two scholarships each year for Australian non-profit CEOs to attend Harvard Business School.
Lisa holds a Master of Public Policy from Harvard University.
Lisa joins longstanding APS board members Jan Swinhoe, David Ward, Belinda Hutchinson, Dan Phillips, Michael Traill and John McMurdo, plus Graeme McKenzie who joined the APS board in November 2024 and Sebastian Robertson who was appointed in October 2025.
